About

The McHenry Music Festival was created as a way to “Pay It Forward” to the residents and visitors of McHenry, Illinois. By hosting a professional, large-scale music festival, we’ve built a platform that not only brings incredible live entertainment to our community but also raises funds for vital projects that improve the quality of life for families and children.

This festival is a true partnership between the City of McHenry and the McHenry Music Festival organization. Since taking office in 2017, Mayor Wayne Jett has made it a priority to highlight community needs and address the funding gaps that often prevent important projects from becoming reality. In 2019, Mayor Jett and his wife, Amber, established a Foundation dedicated to supporting these initiatives, with the festival serving as its largest annual fundraiser.

Since its launch, the McHenry Music Festival has hosted three unforgettable events, raising over $1.4 million for community projects that otherwise might not have been funded. These projects include:

  • McHenry’s first-ever splash pad park for children
  • Enhancements to the City’s waterfront park, including a music pavilion, river walk, shops, and a spray pad
  • A new ADA-compliant playground set to open in 2025

The festival’s success is fueled by the community’s love of live music, featuring major artists like Sam Hunt, Bailey Zimmerman, Slightly Stoopid, Flo Rida, Brantley Gilbert, Brad Paisley, Old Dominion, Chris Young, Chris Janson, Dirty Heads, Sublime with Rome, Dustin Lynch, Lauren Alaina, and many more.

Every ticket purchased, every sponsor, and every song shared on our stage contributes directly back to McHenry—making our city a better place for families and children for generations to come.
